SSTP Guidance Updates - Lowered Automation Zone

https://www.myretailportal.co.uk/index.php/current-works/sstp-automation-replacement?a_id=391#SSTP_Lowered_Automation_Zone

To comply with Accessibility requirements the '5 key' on the user keypad of a machine should sit no higher than 1050mm above the finished floor level.

In some instances this will require a 'Lowered Automation Zone' in a Front or Back of House area to lower the / a machine to the appropriate user height.

A 'Lowered Automation Zone' may be shared by multiple machines where site situations and machine types allow / dictate (machine access zones for each machine should always be maintained).

Compliant H&S solutions should ALWAYS be delivered (to the design intent standards provided below); however, as illustrated and depending on site situation, Back of House solutions may provide greater flex in this regard.

Where a branch requires a minimal height adaptation to lower a machine (to the correct '5 key height') in a Back of House area a 'feathering in approach' may be considered to avoid the full 'Pit' construction requirements. Any solution that is a significant variation on the standard will require Design Managers approval pre works. Solutions will be on a site specific basis depending on outcomes of surveys and drawings by Main Contractor / Architect and should always provide a solution that ensures compliance with our Health & Safety requirements.

SSTP Guidance Updates - 'Making Good' Requirements

https://www.myretailportal.co.uk/index.php/current-works/sstp-automation-replacement?a_id=391#SSTP_Making_Good_Requirements

In all instances (including Back of House areas) any damage caused to areas when installing new ATM Machines (inc. floors, walls etc) should be made good, leaving the area with no cosmetic issues or H&S issues (trip hazards, holes, sharp edges, etc.). All works that are completed need to be in line with our H&S requirements to ensure our colleagues (and customers) are left with a safe environment
